Yellow warning of wind affecting the North Coast

A WEATHER warning has been issued for the North Coast and warnings of travel disruption have been reported.

The warning is in place from 4am - 3pm tomorrow.  

Strong westerly winds will bring some disruption on Saturday to Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland, and northern England.

What to expect

  • Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible
  • Some roads and bridges may close
  • Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
  • Injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto susceptible sea fronts, coastal roads and properties

A yellow warning is also issued for Sunday evening 6pm-midnight and a further yellow warning on Monday - 6pm-midnight.
