Air Ambulance tasked to Market Road area of Ballymena

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 09.44 this morning following reports of road traffic collision at Market Road, Ballymena.

NIAS despatched one Emergency crew and one Doctor to the scene.

The Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS crew on board was also tasked to the incident.

A spokesperson for NIAS said “Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient has been airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.”

In a statement on social media a spokesperson for Bryson Recycling said: “There was an incident this morning involving one of our kerbside collection vehicles.

“Collections in this area may be impacted as a result of this incident and we will endeavour to make collections in the coming days. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
