Detectives are appealing for witnesses following robberies at two shops in the Ballymena area this morning (Sunday, November 1st).

Just before 9.00 am, it was reported that man armed with a knife entered a shop on the Cushendall Road, waved the knife at staff and made off with a quantity of cigarettes and cash.

Police received a further report that at around 9.00 am, a man armed with a knife entered a different shop on the Cushendall Road and threatened the member of staff. It is not known if anything was taken during this incident.

The man is described as being around six foot in height and wearing a dark navy hooded fur coat.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents, or who may have witnessed anyone suspicious in the area is asked to contact police by calling 101, quoting reference numbers 675 and 668 of 01/11/20.
