Police have arrested a 30-year-old male following the report of a man armed with a gun in the Albert Place area of Ballymena on Friday night, 10 July.
Inspector Aaron Brown said: “We received a report, just before 8.30pm, that a man had been spotted in the area with a suspected firearm.
“Officers attended and arrested the man on suspicion of carrying an imitation firearm in a public place, possessing an article with a blade or point in a public place and handling stolen goods.
“He remains in custody at this time, assisting with our enquiries.
“We’re grateful to those members of the public who reported this to us.
“Our enquiries continue, and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 2009 of 10/07/20.”
