Teenager charged for theft and possession of an offensive weapon

An 18-year-old man has been charged for theft and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court via videolink on Monday 22nd June, As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The charges are in relation to the burglary of a jewellers in the Church Street area of Ballymena on Saturday 20th June.

A 31 year old man arrested as part of the investigation has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
