Major Regeneration plans for Portrush have been confirmed by the Minister for Social Development, Mervyn Storey.
The Minister said that major infrastructure projects are needed and must be delivered in order for the town to be prepared to host the Open Championship.
Mr Storey said that in order to make the most of the opportunities brought by Royal Portrush Golf Club’s hosting of the Open, major infrastructure projects have to be delivered.
Giving example of projects that will be considered/completed, he mentioned the development of Portrush Harbour, re-location of the town’s train station, and the potential development of a four star hotel.
