The door to volunteering is open to everyone!

1 Mins read

At Causeway Volunteer Centre we believe that everyone has a contribution to make. Everyone has something to give and everyone deserves the opportunity to use skills and experience and to gain new ones. The job market has never been more competitive which means that only the highest qualified and most experienced people stand a chance. Volunteering is often seen as an alternative way to get that vital workplace experience. But finding a voluntary position can also be competitive and we’re aware that even in volunteering organisations can cherry-pick the most capable volunteers.

Causeway Volunteer Centre has been working hard with placement organisations to ensure that people with all levels of ability are included. Many of our organisations have just completed Volunteer Management training which empathised the importance of valuing diversity in the workforce. We feel confident that there is room for everyone; people who have a disability or long term health conditions, people who don’t have English as a first language, people who are young and inexperienced or those who consider themselves too old, anyone who is trying to find a way to be involved, to meet people, to gain skills and experience, to have a routine.

To further enforce this message we have just launched a Diversity Campaign in River House today. The Mayor Cllr George Duddy was delighted to add his support.

We have a wide range of opportunities available. You can check these out on our website but don’t be put off if you don’t see exactly what you are looking for, give us a call and tell us what you want. We’ll do our best to find you something to suit your particular needs.
Our door is open to everyone; we look forward to hearing from you.
