Wandering dog sparks off search.

1 Mins read

At approximately 9:30pm on Sunday 1st March, the Coleraine Coastguard Team was tasked to assist PSNI Officers at the West Strand Portrush, following the discovery of anownerless and somewhat subdued golden retriever.

The alarm had been raised by concerned members of the public who had stopped a short time earlier to discuss the dog with his owner, who had been walking his pet along the promenade. When they could not locate the owner, they had contacted the Police, who in turn had called for Coastguard backup.

Fortunately the tale (tail) had a happy ending when owner and canine were reunited as Coastguards arrived on scene. The owner explained that on returning from their walk, the dog had refused to come into the house, disappearing from sight a short time later.
