A mother of three from Coleraine has received a 2 year driving ban after she pleaded guilty to driving while unfit and failing to report an accident.

The court heard that 33 year old Noreen Taggart crashed in to a lamp post on January 25th of this year and left the vehicle at the scene.

She was found a few hours later by Police who said she was unsteady on her feet and was slurring her words. Miss Taggart apologised for her actions and admitted drinking two glasses of wine and taking prescribed drugs.

She was sentenced to six months probation by District Judge Liam McNally who also told her that she will have to re-take her driving test.
