Archibald Condemns Racist Vandalism Of Park Irish Signs

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has condemned those responsible for vandalising Irish language road signs around Park village in Co Derry.

The East Derry MLA said:

“There is no excuse for this type of racist vandalism, it’s unacceptable.

“It is not the first time these Irish language signs have been defaced or damaged.

“The local community campaigned hard to get these signs and they have expressed their understandable annoyance at this display of racist intolerance.

“Occurrences like this bring into focus the need for protection of Irish Language rights through Acht na Gaeilge.

“We would urge anyone with information about this vandalism to bring it to the attention of the PSNI.”
