Archibald encourages women to get involved in sport

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald is encouraging women and girls to get involved in sport this Women’s Sport Week.

The Vice Chair of the Assembly’s All Party Group on Sport & Physical Recreation said:

“Women’s Sport Week runs from 3rd – 9th October and is a good opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of being active for both physical and mental wellbeing and also for fun.

“With many sporting organisations running events over this week it is also an opportunity for girls and women of all ages to try out a new activity.

“Women’s Sport Week also gives us a chance to pay tribute to all the athletes who inspire us and to the many volunteers, coaches and administrators that make it possible for the sporting organisations to be successful.”
