Ardmore builders fined £250 for waste offending

On 18 August 2016, O’Kane and McLaughlin Builders Ltd of Bigwood Road, Ardmore, Londonderry has been fined £250 (and an offender levy of £15) at Londonderry Magistrates’ court for breaching waste management legislation.

Officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency visited the site at Green Road, Ardmore, Londonderry on three occasions between March 2013 and May 2015, where they found quantities of construction and demolition waste deposited on the site and infilled down the bank from the edge of the road. The company did not hold the relevant waste management licence or an exemption to deposit or keep waste at this location.
