Coleraine’s opponents on Thursday night, Slovenian outfit MK Maribor, kick off their domestic season today.

They host Aluminij at the Ljudski Vrt in the PrvaLiga.

It provides Bannsiders boss Oran Kearney with the perfect opportunity to get a look at the opposition prior to Thursday’s clash.

He is using his contacts from his time at St. Mirren to get video footage of this afternoon’s game.

It’s yet another example of the professionalism of the Showgrounds chief.

“I’ve never met anyone as meticulous as Oran when it comes to preparing for matches,” says Coleraine General Manager Stevie McCann.

Maribor will be a huge step up in class from San Marino outfit La Fiorita.

Although only formed in 1960, ‘the Purples’, as they are known, have qualified for European competition 32 times.

They have taken part in the Champions League on 14 occasions, the UEFA and Europa League 13 times, twice in the Cup Winners Cup and they also participated three times in the Inter Toto Cup.
