Educational opportunities should be open to all – Archibald

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin Further & Higher Education spokesperson, Caoimhe Archibald, has said it is important that educational opportunities are available to everyone who wants to take them up.

Speaking following a meeting with Open University representatives, Caoimhe Archibald said:

“The opportunity to engage in further or higher education, whether for initial training or upskilling, should be available to anyone who wants it.

“Alongside the more traditional institutions, the Open University provides alternative routes to a range of courses and qualifications, enabling individuals to avail of distance learning and part-time study over flexible time periods.

“This allows those in employment or with caring responsibilities, and people with disabilities, to pursue educational opportunities and ambitions.

“It is important we continue to work to widen participation and invest in the skills development.”
