Emergency services tasked to Strangford Harbour

A multi-emergency incident is underway where it is believed a vehicle and its occupant(s) have entered the waters of Strangford harbour.

Kellie Armstrong Alliance MLA said “Shocked to hear a car has had to be removed from Strangford Lough today.

“I’m aware the Coastguard rescued one person who has been taken to hospital. I hope the person is not injured and makes a speedy recovery.

“Local information suggests this is a terrible accident.

HM Coastguard from Prestwick, PSNI, NIAS, NIFRS along with other emergency response units are attending.

The incident was reported at Quay Road at around 11:40am.
