Frew welcomes commitment from Health Minister regarding HSCB jobs in Ballymena

1 Mins read

Paul Frew, DUP MLA for North Antrim has welcomed the commitment from the Health Minister in a letter that Health & Social Care Board jobs in Ballymena will not move to Belfast as a result of the closure of the HSCB.

Paul Frew stated: “The Permanent Secretary visited the Ballymena office in April 2016 and gave assurances that there was no plans to centralise functions and jobs in Belfast. The Minister herself gave similar assurances to Board HQ staff in August. The Minister has also committed to keeping everyone fully informed and involved in the process moving forward.

This is welcome news for the staff in Ballymena and I will be keeping an eye on this issue as we move forward and will continue to represent staff when called upon to do so.”
