Tourism Ireland has welcomed today’s continuing good news for tourism from overseas.
Figures from the CSO confirm an excellent start to 2016, with growth of +16% for February-April 2016.
Today’s stats from NISRA confirm that 2015 was also a record year for tourism for Northern Ireland, with growth of +10%, to almost 2 million overseas visitors last year.
Welcoming the news, Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “Today’s CSO figures confirm that tourism is off to an excellent start this year, with overseas visitors up +16% in the period February to April and growth from all overseas market areas.
“Figures published by NISRA today confirm that 2015 was also a record year for overseas tourism to Northern Ireland, with full-year growth of +10% and overseas tourism revenue up +8% to £484 million.”
