Joel Hawthorn and Jordan Brown appear in court charged in relation to a serious assault

Joel Hawthorn and Jordan Brown, both 23 years old and from the Carrickfergus area, appeared at Antrim Crown Court on Monday 9th March in relation to a serious assault at a flat in the Linn Road area of Larne on 13th April 2017.

Hawthorn and Brown both pleaded guilty to the offence of grievous bodily harm and Brown further pleaded guilty to the offence of possession of an offensive weapon. Sentencing is due to be carried out on Thursday 23rd April at Antrim Crown Court.

The charges above relate to an assault on Conor Murray who required surgery to insert a plate into his face to repair a number of fractures along with other injuries.

Conor sadly passed away as a result of an unrelated incident in May 2018.
