Man who died following Belfast City Centre incident officially named as Gerard McMahon

The Police Ombudsman’s Office has released a photograph of the man who died following an incident in Belfast City Centre yesterday (Thursday) morning.

He was 36-year-old Gerard McMahon from the Short Strand area of the city.

The Office has renewed its appeal for anyone who saw Mr McMahon in the city centre in the early hours of yesterday morning, particularly in the area of Great Victoria Street at around 5am, to contact them.

The Office’s freephone witness appeal line is 0800 032 7880.
