Minister Mallon announces resumption of normal schedule on the Strangford Ferry

1 Mins read

Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon has welcomed the resumption of a normal schedule on the Strangford Ferry from Monday 10 August 2020.

Minister Mallon said: “Since April, in response to the Covid-19 public health emergency, it was necessary to operate reduced sailings across Strangford Lough. I am pleased to announce that a normal schedule can be put back in place starting from Monday 10 August.

“While this means a return to the normal ferry timetable, passengers are reminded that the service will continue to be operated in line with public health advice regarding social distancing measures, which means reduced capacity on board. Passengers are also reminded of the requirement to keep vehicle windows closed or wear a face-covering if in the passenger compartment while using the service. Payment will continue to be accepted by contactless card or ferry SmartCard only. The health and safety of passengers and crew is of paramount importance at all times.

“This is a very popular service and I am grateful to the local community for their support and patience during these unprecedented times.”
