NIFRS advise the Public to be aware of Advertising Fraud

1 Mins read

Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) wishes to advise that they do not ask members of the public or the business community to take out paid advertising space within any of their publications; nor do they ask third parties to do this on their behalf.

An NIFRS Spokesperson said : “We have been made aware that a company in England is using our name and targeting local businesses to take out paid advertising stating that funds will be going towards NIFRS – this is false representation and fraudulent activity.”

“We would advise that you should not be tempted to reply to any form of correspondence that you think might be a scam but to report it to Action Fraud at https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

“Further advice on fraud prevention and reporting fraud can be found on the PSNI website at https://www.psni.police.uk/crime/fraud/
