The Ballymena Bear is set to appear onscreen at a very special preview event of its new Christmas advert at the Braid Centre, Ballymena on Thursday 10th November 2016.

Following on from its heartwarming quest last Christmas to be reunited with its owner in a touching seasonal film, this year 200 members of the public and their families will have the opportunity to be the very first viewers to see what the bear gets up to this year.

This free preview event at the Braid Centre, Ballymena is open to everyone, just apply online at EventBrite.co.uk ‘Ballymena Means Christmas’ where it will be on a basis of first come first served for tickets.  The event will begin from 5pm with a reception at the Braid followed by a showing of the highly anticipated new advert.

Alison Moore, Ballymena BID Manager said; “We are very excited to be part of the Ballymena Bear’s Christmas preview.  This will be a lovely event for families and friends to come along to and see what the Ballymena Bear has in store for us this year. In addition to the preview we will have enterainment from local theatre group c21 Theatre Company and we will also have lots going on including a best dressed ‘Bring a Bear’ competition to which we are encouraging all children attending to bring along their favourite teddy bear decked out in its best outfit.”

The Ballymena Bear became a viral sensation and global hit last year when it first appeared to promote the town’s Christmas festivities.  The film was made by Ballymena-based Grafters Design Studio, while the bear was made by Michele Lowry of local gift shop Penny & Rose from linen supplied by Baird McNutt, also based in the town.

Stephen Reid, from Grafters Design Studio commented; “We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase the Ballymena Bear’s second Christmas film at this special preview event.  The success of the film last year was truly staggering and we can’t wait to show the public what the bear is up to this year.”
