Walkers Recalls Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli Crisps Over Fears They Could Trigger Allergies

WALKERS is recalling its Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli Flavour Potato Crisps because it hasn’t correctly emphasised on the packets that the snacks contain wheat.

Products containing wheat – and therefore gluten – can be a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to gluten.

People who are allergic to gluten can experience diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloating and flatulence, indigestion and constipation if they eat wheat.

The crisp giant says the offending packets did say wheat was included in the ingredient list, but that it wasn’t highlighted in bold.

It’s recalling 73g packs, which were price marked “Only £1 RRP”, as well as 40g packs.

Affected packets contain best before dates of January 29, 2019 and earlier. Crisps with best before dates of February 2, 2019 and after are not affected.
