North Coast World Earth, an educational environmental awareness campaign and action group covering the Causeway Coast and Glens area lifted 145 bags of litter throughout the week of strike action.
A spokesperson said "It deeply saddens us to see the public leave such vast amounts of litter behind when there was clearly no waste management provided. If a bin looks close to full, don't stuff it in, take your litter home.
"Overflowing bins, piled up rubbish and scattered litter will lead to a detrimental effect on our local wildlife, including our birds, fish and other sea creatures. Be responsible and take your rubbish home."
