Detectives are appealing for information after a car was set on fire in Bushmills last night (Wednesday, September 1).
Detective Sergeant Higgins said: "At 9.55pm, it was reported that a car outside a house in the Silverstream Court area was on fire.
"Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries but the car was completely destroyed as a result of the incident.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident, which is being treated as arson, and I am appealing to anyone who has information about what happened, or who is responsible, or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around these times, to call us on 101 and quote reference number 1979 of 01/09/21.”

A NIFRS spokesperson said that 2 fire Appliances from Portrush Fire Station and 1 Fire Appliance from Coleraine Fire Station attended the incident.
"Firefighters were called to a car and a fence on fire yesterday evening. Firefighters used 1 hose reel to extinguish the fire. The incident was dealt with by 10.38pm and the cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate ignition."
