Police investigate arson attack in Bushmills

Detectives investigating an arson attack at a flat in Bushmills on Monday, 29 November are appealing for information.

It was reported shortly after 7am a wheelie bin had been pushed against the front door of a flat within the Silverstream Court area and set alight.

Fire Service personnel attended and extinguished the fire which caused damage to the door of the flat and smoke damage to the lobby area.

Detective Constable Tosh said: "A female occupant of the flat received treatment from paramedics for smoke inhalation, whilst a male occupant was uninjured.

"We are treating this incident as a sectarian motivated hate crime and we are appealing for anyone with information. or who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at that time. to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 263 29/11/21."
