A Portrush man appeared via video link this morning at Coleraine Magistrates Court sitting in Ballymena charged with attempted murder and affray.
Arthur John Myles Hanson (33) of Glentaisie Park, Portrush appeared from Antrim Court cells to hear the charges read against him.
A detective constable said she could connect the defendant to the charges and objected to bail based on the grounds of reoffending and witnesses interference.
The court heard how Hanson had 81 previous convictions.
The appearance follows a stabbing incident in the Glenarm Avenue area of Portrush on Friday, September 24.
District Judge Peter King objected to bail based on the risk of reoffending and impeding the investigation.
The case was adjourned to Coleraine Magistrates Court on October 25 and the defendant was remanded in to custody.
