Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has said that a security alert at Glentaisie Park has caused disruption and resulted in people being evacuated from their homes.
The East Derry MLA said:
“An going security alert in Glentaisie Park has caused disruption, particularly for families who have had to leave their homes on a cold night.
“I have spoken to the police and they have confirmed that Coleraine Leisure Centre has been opened for anyone who needs somewhere to go while the alert is ongoing.
“A police operation continues in the area and I would ask people to co-operate with them until this alert has been cleared.
“Anyone with information should bring it to the police.”
