Portstewart Christmas Tree replaced due to storm damage

Portstewart's Christmas Tree has been replaced due to Storm Arwen.  

Gusts of wind up to 100km/h - 60mph - were expected in exposed areas last Friday.

A council spokeswoman said "Portstewart Christmas tree was replaced this morning (Monday 29th November) due to storm damage.

"At this stage, there are no plans to replace any other trees, but this will remain under review."

The Christmas calvade that was due to take place on November 27th was rescheduled to 1st December, 6.30pm – 7.45pm due to the adverse weather forecasts.
