Private enforcement company to tackle Causeway Coast & Glens dog fouling and litter ‘upsurge’

Littering and dog fouling problems are not only a pain for everyone, but also pose health hazards. Extra resources are being brought in to help tackle these issues across the Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council area.

The Waste Enforcement Team (WISE) will be been given the power to issue fines for littering, dog fouling, and fly-tipping. They will be targeting areas throughout Causeway Coast & Glens Borough over the next 12 months (pilot basis), with a focus on hotspots!

In the first week of partnering with Mid & East Antrim Council, they dished out more than 150 fines.

We contacted Council in relation to fixed penalty notices.  A spokesperson said:

"We’ll be releasing information about this next week – this is being worked up at the minute."
