The Police Service Of Northern Ireland has taken a step in favour of a Coleraine's bar plans by removing their objections to an entertainments license.
The PSNI originally objected to the license for The Roost Bar on the basis that the premises were situated at the heart of a residential area in the town and to grant the application would have a detrimental effect on the local community and the residents living there.
Secondly, they objected based on a public order situation arising having a detrimental effect on the local community.
Councillors this evening heard how the PSNI have engaged with the owner and that the original hours applied for entertainment 11:30 hrs to 02:00 hrs was revised to 11:30 hrs to 01:00 hrs.
They also heard how the owner will engage with the PSNI to ensure that no public order situations will arise.
The decision will go before full council next month for ratification.
