Sorriso restaurant situated on Railway Road in Coleraine has been forced to close in what they say is due to 'staff shortages'.
A large number of businesses have been impacted by the shortage of staff forcing many to adjust opening hours and cut back on capacity.
The hospitality industry is experiencing rising worker shortages, with job vacancies at their highest levels since records began and recent figures estimating that one in ten workers left the sector during the coronavirus pandemic.
In a social media post this morning they said "Dear Customers, With a heavy heart we would like to inform you that due to staff shortages we have decided to amalgamate with our sister restaurant Amici and have made the difficult decision to close Sorriso from Sunday 19th September at 8PM. If staffing issues improve, we will rethink our position.
"We would just like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their support and loyalty over the past 2 years. This has not been an easy decision for us. We will miss everyone dearly and we hope to see you in Amici. Any customers that currently have a voucher for Sorriso if you could contact us before Sunday and we will either return your money or exchange it for an Amici voucher.Thank you again.
"Kind Regards All the staff at Sorriso x"
