Riada fight back to beat Garvagh

RIADA and Garvagh met at a windswept Rugby Avenue on Saturday afternoon as storm Jorge took hold across Northern Ireland.

Garvagh took an early lead playing with a strong wind at their backs after  a lapse in the Riada defense allowed a shot on goal which was well placed beyond Maybin by Mark Gordon.

Garvagh were earlier denied by an acrobatic save from the Riada keeper, turning a goal-bound shot onto the crossbar and out for a corner.

The game as a spectacle was spoiled by the strong wind as neither side were given an opportunity to display their skills, constantly battling the elements.

In the end, goals from Niall Johnston, John Eddy Convery, and Uel Irwin were enough to earn Riada the points.
