The National Trust has submitted planning proposals to Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council for the reinstatement of a previously removed entrance door to the Lions Entrance Gate at Downhill Demesne.
Plans reveal that the door would be constructed and installed to replicate previous, based on historic photographic records.

Works are also proposed to increase aesthetics of the Lions Gate, bringing it back to its original intended form and increasing the security of the site.
The Lions Gate is a grade B+ listed structure.
The proposed works aim to respect the character of the structure and wider demesne.
